14th Interntaional short film festival 21st – 23rd Jan 2005

Celebrating its 14th year Flickerfest was the summer highlight of the cinema calendar. Flickerfest took us on a unique global journey screening the two nights of International programmes – the best of short films from around the world. This year IQ is added a third night with the special “Best of Annecy International Animation Festival” program, screening exclusively outside of the Sydney Flickerfest. Annecy is the oldest & most respected animation festival in the world & this is the first time a programme of award winners from this prestigious festival will be screened in Australia.

Ethical Feast

The Ethical Feast celebrates the abundance of art, music & good food we share in our community. Proceeds from the Ethical Feast will fund a “Food Trees for Schools” project.

A sumptuous organic three-course dinner, sourced from local produce, will showcase and promote sustainable farming practices in Byron Shire. Exhibition of local art work available for purchase, and local produce & information stalls. An amazing floorshow called “Wake UP” and a stunning slideshow.

Local producers, businesses & organisations are invited to display at the Ethical Feast. Local artists are invited to submit locally inspired works for sale at the Ethical Feast.

Speaker: Scott Taylor (author “Dolphins, Whales & Human Destiny”)
Speaker: Dave Roby (TROPPO)
Performing Artists: include Chinta, Rik Cole, Vasuda, Cleis Peirce, Amere & Avishai (Sheva), Uval (Mayan), Aboriginal, African, contemporary & break dancers and belly-dancers.

Venue: Bangalow A&I Hall
Doors open: 5pm – art exhibition & eco stalls with light refreshments.
Dinner starts: 7pm
Show starts: 9pm.
Tickets:$60/50 with a valid concession card.
Show only: $25 (tickets available @ door)

13th Interntaional short film festival 19th – 20th Jan 2004

The 6th visit to Byron Bay of the International Short Film Festival’s touring program was a major hit once again. This year’s screenings saw record numbers attend with the Bangalow A & I Hall filled to capacity despite the intense humidity.

IQ SCENE Launched

The Sustainable Community Employment Network Enterprise (SCENE) was launched on October 9 2003 with Lindsay Blount from Dept FACS for 150k. SCENE is a Community Employment Pilot developed by IQ Inc. which provides for a network of community organisations, arts, ecologically sustainable industries & business. More info…
